To visit:
- The archaeological and ethnographic Edgar Clerc Museum at 2,5 km from Le Moule: exhibition about the civilizations of Arawak and Carib Indians, geology, fauna, flora and insects of Guadeloupe.
- The rum distillery Bellevue (Rum Damoiseau) on route D 101. Visit, tasting and sales at the Cabane à Rhum.
- Discovery of the mangrove swamps on tracks or by canoe or kayak.
Ideal starting point to discover Grande Terre eastern & northern part. The crowds thin out further east, around bohemian Ste-Anne and swanky St-François, and are almost non-existent along the Pointe-des-Châteaux. No visit to Guadeloupe would be complete without a visit to the colourful commercial hub of Pointe-à-Pitre, while northern pockets like Port-Louis, a picturesque fishing village at the mouth of calm Plage du Souffleur and the dramatic Lagon des Portes d'Enfer, combine to make a terrific day out. |
